Early in the morning, we will transfer you from your hotel to the train station in Ollantaytambo, providing personalized service as we handle small groups. It is here where we will board the train that passes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on this route you will enjoy beautiful scenery until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes.

Already in Aguas Calientes, we can take the bus that will take us to the archaeological sanctuary of Machu Picchu. The trip takes 30 minutes, finally, we will arrive at the Inca citadel, you will be amazed at this monument considered one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World, immediately our guide will begin the guided tour for you to learn more about the history and architecture of the Inca City of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon we finish the 1-day tour by boarding the return train and we will pick you up from the station to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco

Machu Picchu Tour

Welcome to this experience of Machu Picchu tour full day, we will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco, to travel for 1 and 30 minutes to the town of Ollantaytambo, is in this town where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, this incredible train ride lasts 1h 30 minutes, upon arriving at this town of Machu Picchu along with the guide will go to the bus station to board the bus to Machu Picchu and the trip will last 30 minutes.

Finally, we will arrive at this place of charm and dream Machu Picchu, close your eyes and open your heart to enjoy sure unforgettable moments in your life, you will enter Machu Picchu and will go to the top of Machu Picchu exactly to the viewpoint where you will have an incredible view and take pictures and then start the tour for 2 hours so you can learn about history and architecture of this wonderful place.

Once the guided tour is over you will leave the Machu Picchu tour and board the bus to Machu Picchu Pueblo where you will have time to buy some gifts in the handicraft market and then have a typical lunch.

Here in the afternoon, you will board the train to Ollantaytambo and then by bus to Cusco where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

  • A good daypack: Eagle Creek Afar Backpack or an appropriate pack to carry your personal belongings!
  • Lighter trekking boots with good ankle support!
  • One pair of hiking pants – not jeans!
  • 1 rain jacket “even if we are in the dry season”
  • One warm/winter jacket/gloves, scarf, cap cold, thermal clothing full bod!
  • Bring some meds!
  • Iron tablets and pills for altitude sickness. Several people on the hike have varying degrees of altitude sickness and both of these remedies (in addition to the coca tea) are very helpful in alleviating the symptom
  • Sun protection cream (SPF 45 or higher recommended).
  • Re-usable plastic or metal water container
  • Bandages or moleskin
  • Extra money for souvenirs, drinks, & tips for your Cusco Journeys staff.
