If you do not have enough time to do the 4-day Machu Picchu Inca Trail, there is an alternative route. This moderate hike starts at Km 104 of the Cusco-Aguas Calientes railway line and takes you to the Sun Gate or Inti Punku. Along the way, you will be able to contemplate beautiful landscapes, as well as Inca constructions nestled in impressive natural scenery. You will have to climb steadily for 3 hours to reach Wiñayhuayna and another two hours to reach the entrance of Machu Picchu at a moderate pace.
