Flora And Fauna of the Inca Trail

The Inca Trail is a path that is an abundance of thrilling experiences, as well as ancient memories and a variety of flora and fauna. The Sernanp – National Service of State Protected Natural Areas – has identified thirteen species of fish, twelve amphibian species, twenty-two reptile species, 423 breeds of birds, and fifty-three varieties of mammals. Machu Picchu, the concluding point of the trail, is the location of several animals including llamas, large hummingbirds, cock-of-the-rock, and in sparse cases, the vastly known Andean bear.
